Big Tree, Little Tree, Transforming Fox - Treefolk Troupe Spotlight

Image
Normally for troupes built around a keyword, several characters have auras and abilities that target said keyword. The treefolk however are not like these traditional keyword focussed troupes. Instead, they focus on how they and their opponents interact with wooded patches. As well as bringing a new terrain focussed playstyle to the Leshavult they also bring some very durable models by Leshavult standards. Gump in particular has the incredibly rare ability in Leshavult to reduce damage suffered. It isn't just one type of damage like the Jackalope either, Gump reduces TWO types of damage! This in combination with a few treefolk abilities and some more traditional Leshavult healing tricks can lead to some incredibly tough trees! The Growers Firstly, the treefolk need to get their wooded patches on the board. For this vital task, Ruwt will happily lend their expertise. They bring the familiar 'Verdant Growth' and a base energy of 3 allowing them to use it once per turn off the...

Kalista - Character Spotlight

Image
She protec but she also attac The Arising Kickstarter ( Found here ) is currently underway and on Tuesday Kalista was voted to receive a brand new limited edition sculpt! With this new sculpt Kalista is certain to see the tabletop a lot more! So who is Kalista and what can she do on the tabletop with her vast array of supportive abilities? Kalista has a set of very familiar stats for a human, so generally pretty good all around. A good number of wounds with the majority of energy skewed to the left will help her survive and stay energised so that she can keep supporting her troupe for as long as possible. In melee Kalista brings an average melee stat of 3 and a 1" range. Naturally, 3 melee is very unlikely to cause massive damage with critical hits, but it is enough for Kalista to reliably draw her signature with an attack or with a 'Go for it'. If this isn't an option though she can use her 'Dagger' to increase the damage of her thrust and rising attacks, alth...

The Witches of Wyrdwood - Witches Troupe Spotlight

Image
Unlike a lot of lists, the witches do not rely on trait synergy. Instead, the witches work in tandem with passive, active and arcane abilities to buff themselves and other models irrespective of trait. This, in combination with the witches' great toolbox of abilities, creates a great all-round list with answers to every situation. But what Specifically do these three do and who else can aid them in a troupe?  Wyrdwood Witches The witches generally spend most of the game supporting friends and controlling enemies. They also possess perhaps the most obvious and blunt example of synergy in the game with their 'Link to the past/present/future' abilities. With this passive ability, their mere presence on the board will improve the stats of their fellow witches as well as their own. With this in mind, the witches should usually be considered together as opposed to on their own. This is as these synergies play very well into all their game plans such as Danica's heal which wil...

Leshavult Overview & First Boxes - Starting Moonstone

Image
Leshavult Unlike dominion and commonwealth, there is less of a focus on specific races in Leshavult. Most troupes within the faction tend to have more of a focus on synergies and combos. That being said there are still some loose "Sub factions" which Leshavult can be collected and played as. Firstly, the fauns and animals who zip around at impressive speeds, full of energy. In contrast to this, the spirits and cultists generally play a slower methodical game, relying on arcane deck manipulation and other esoteric abilities and combos.  Irrespective of the sub-faction in question, Leshavult models are generally very flimsy and have excellent energy manipulation. Animals & Fauns Difficulty: Medium Evasion and speed are the main tricks of the fauns and the animals. With more movement tricks than most, the fauns and animals can ensure they can be where they want as quickly as possible. This is also helped by their access to some energy manipulation. This comes in the form of ...
